Dr. Saraswathi Muppana is president of Indian Medical Association of New England. She is an Internal Medicine Physician, who is board certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. She is the CEO of her private practice located at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton and Plymouth locations, where she sees patients for sleep apnea and other sleep-related disorders, as well as is the director of the home sleep study testing center at those locations and treats patients with asthma, COPD, and several other lung problems. She is affiliated with both Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton, and Tufts Medical Center, Boston.
Given her interest in food, habits and overall wellness and healthy lifestyle in the general population and more so in Indian origin population, she went on to get her Board certification in Obesity Medicine through American Board of Obesity Medicine.
She is the Vice-president of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin–Sleep, known as AAPIOS. This forum brings sleep medicine experts from the United States and India together to share and develop collaboration in clinical and research area. She has given talks on sleep and obesity in India as well.
